PARTS USED
Refurbish Or Restore
Refurbishment and restoration are oftentimes used interchangeably, and they are both ways of giving new life to a piano. Though it is very important to state the differences between these two methods, since the end result will be very unalike.
Refurbishment:
Restoration:
When a piano is restored, the main goal is to preserve as much as possible, especially signs of age. Restoring a piano is generally only preferred if it is a collectors item or a piano with special value. The piano will be cleaned and maintained, wear will be stopped and missing parts will be replaced with matching original parts. If a piano is severely deteriorated, restoration will make it clean and complete but might not make it playable.
If you have a piano with special historical value, you might opt for a restoration to keep its value. However most pianos deserve a high quality refurbishment using the best parts and techniques.
Innovation
In current times of fast technological development we strive to be ahead of the game when it comes to technical advancements in the piano sector. It is undeniable that the piano market is changing with many new products entering the market. Therefore we think it is essential to listen to the needs of the end customer and keep an eye out for the technological possibilities of today. New materials and techniques keep being invented and refined, of which old as well as new pianos could benefit. Logically it is necessary to keep questioning the true gain of innovative methods, and we are the first to thoroughly test before adopting these innovations into our workshops.
Besides mechanical development, we are on top of electronic and digital innovation. An example is our own Kioshi Silent System, which we designed from the ground up. The system uses the newest electronics and sensors, and we are constantly challenging our own design to make the system as modern, efficient and comprehensive as possible.
